1. Information you provide
- Account information: email address, phone number, authentication details, and account identifiers.
- Profile information: name, date of birth, gender, relationship preferences, biography, interests, lifestyle details, photos, and other information you choose to add.
- Communications: messages, message requests, reactions, voice recordings, images, videos, and other content you exchange through Tor2Me.
- Verification information: selfies, prompts, review results, verification status, and related anti-fraud signals when you use photo verification.
- Safety and support information: reports, blocks, support requests, evidence you submit, and information needed to investigate abuse or account issues.
- Contact Defense: if you choose this feature, selected address-book phone numbers are transmitted securely for immediate server-side conversion into keyed one-way identifiers. Contact names are not uploaded, and persistent Contact Defense records do not contain readable address-book phone numbers.
- Purchase information: subscription product, entitlement status, transaction identifiers, and purchase-validation results. Google Play processes your payment-card details; Tor2Me does not receive your full card number.
2. Information collected when you use Tor2Me
- Location: approximate or precise location, with device permission, to provide distance-based discovery and location features.
- Device and technical data: device model, operating system, app version, language, network information, identifiers, diagnostic logs, crash data, and security signals.
- Usage data: features viewed or used, likes, passes, matches, search and discovery choices, session events, notification interactions, and performance data.
- Fraud and safety signals: indicators of spam, automated activity, duplicate or coordinated accounts, policy evasion, compromised accounts, or harmful behaviour.
3. How we use information
Tor2Me uses information to:
- Create, authenticate, maintain, and secure your account.
- Build your profile and operate discovery, likes, passes, matching, chat, message requests, verification, and premium features.
- Apply your preferences, calculate distance, recommend compatible profiles, and reduce repeated or irrelevant results.
- Process subscriptions and restore valid entitlements through Google Play.
- Detect fraud, abuse, impersonation, underage use, security incidents, and violations of our rules.
- Review reports, enforce policies, respond to support requests, and protect users or the public.
- Send service messages, security alerts, match or chat notifications, and optional communications based on your settings.
- Measure reliability, fix errors, improve performance, and develop safer features.
- Comply with law, lawful requests, and obligations relating to payments, safety, and recordkeeping.
4. Legal reasons for processing
Depending on your location and the activity, processing may be necessary to perform our agreement with you, protect legitimate interests such as safety and service integrity, comply with law, protect vital interests, or act with your consent. You can withdraw consent for optional permissions through your device or app settings, although some features may then be unavailable.
5. When information is shared
- With other users: profile information, photos, verification badge, general location or distance, online state when enabled, and content you choose to send.
- With service providers: infrastructure, authentication, databases, storage, notifications, analytics, crash reporting, content delivery, customer support, and security providers—including Firebase and related Google services—under appropriate service terms.
- For payments: Google Play and payment-validation services as needed to process or verify subscriptions.
- For safety and legal reasons: authorities, regulators, child-safety organisations, advisers, or affected parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to prevent serious harm, investigate abuse, protect rights, or enforce our terms.
- Business changes: a successor or transaction participant if Tor2Me is reorganised, financed, sold, or transferred, subject to appropriate safeguards.
Tor2Me does not sell your personal information for money. Verification selfies are not displayed publicly.
6. Data retention
Information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here. Retention depends on the type of data, account status, safety risk, legal requirements, disputes, fraud prevention, billing records, and technical deletion cycles.
Contact Defense identifiers are retained while the feature or account remains active, unless they are replaced by a later sync or removed following a verified request. They are removed through the account-deletion process, subject to limited security, backup, or legal retention described below.
After account deletion, profile visibility and active access are removed. Some information may remain for a limited period in backups or restricted records, or longer where needed to meet legal obligations, prevent abuse or account-recreation evasion, resolve disputes, protect safety, or preserve evidence. Data is deleted or de-identified when retention is no longer justified.
7. Your choices and rights
- Review and update profile or account information in the app.
- Change discovery, notification, privacy, location, and device-permission settings.
- Block users, report concerns, pause the account, or permanently delete it.
- Request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection where local law provides those rights.
- Contact us with a privacy question or complaint.
We may need to verify your identity or account ownership before completing a request. Visit Account Deletion for the in-app and email request options.
For a consolidated explanation of device permissions and request options, visit Privacy Choices.
8. Security
Tor2Me uses administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards designed to protect information. These include access controls, server-side authorisation, encrypted network connections, abuse monitoring, verification controls, and restricted operational access. No service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your device, use a unique password, keep verification codes private, and report suspected compromise promptly.
9. International processing
Tor2Me and its service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, reasonable safeguards are used for international transfers, but privacy laws may differ between countries.
10. Children
Tor2Me is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly permit children to create accounts. Suspected underage accounts may be restricted and investigated. If you believe a child is using Tor2Me or is at risk, review our Child Safety Standards and contact the listed safety address.
11. Website and cookies
This public website may process standard hosting and security logs needed to deliver and protect the site. Tor2Me does not currently use this site for targeted advertising. If analytics or non-essential cookies are introduced, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Tor2Me, the law, or our practices change. The updated date will be shown above. Material changes may also be announced in the app or through another appropriate channel.
13. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, email laarjamesmustapha@gmail.com. Include the email address or phone number connected to your account, but never send a password, verification code, payment-card number, or unnecessary identification in your first message.
